Block Shop

Have you guys heard about Block Shop?  Sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman work with master printers in Bagru, India to make hand blocked scarves inspired by the high desert of California.

I would buy these scarves for the patterns alone, but I especially love that they were able to honor a traditional craft while still appealing to the modern market.  You can pre-order now to receive one April 1... I think the Flock Scarf in Marigold would be my first pick!

Apartment Hunting

Laurent and I have been considering moving apartments in August if our rent increases, and our non-negotiable in our new apartment is more natural light (fingers crossed, we can find a spot that allows dogs, too!).

Right now we live in an itty-bitty studio that we've been very fond of over the past year and a half, but the apartment faces into a courtyard, and we barely get any sunlight, even in the summer!  Ah, wouldn't it be lovely to wake up in these sun-drenched apartments?

Catskills Road Trip!

Eep! I'll just breeze over the fact that it's been over a month since I last posted and just dive right into a new post.

I've been dying to go to the Catskills since we moved to NYC, and I finally took the leap when I saw The Graham & Co. hotel featured on DesignSponge.

It's located in Phoenicia, NY a little hamlet (that's seriously what it is - not a city or a town) of just 309 people.   We booked a reservation in June to take advantage of the pool, free bikes, outdoor movies, and yes... the tubing.

Does anyone have any travel suggestions around that area? We're planning on renting a car at this point to take advantage of some spots nearby.
